A Panel Session: Best Practices and Tools for Antimicrobial Stewardship

Hanoi, Dec. 14-15, 2016--- At APEC Policy Forum: Strengthening Surveillance & Laboratory Capacity to Fight Healthcare Associated Infections and Antimicrobial Resistance organized by the US-APEC Technical Assistance to Advance Regional Integration Project funded by USAID, a member of the SATREPS project on AMR was invited as a panelist speaker to the session "Best Practices and Tools for Antimicrobial Stewardship". Dr. Bui Thi Mai Huong, who is a microbiologist and the project manager working in NIN, overviewed the SATREPS project on AMR in Vietnam and delivered a pilot solution case to fight with AMR at a commune in Vietnam. She showed a carefully designed population health approach with epidemiological evidence and several positive improvements in microbiological situations in a commune. Many participants from APEC economies such as Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Japan and so on paid their attention on her presentation and put forward many positive comments on the project's achievements.
