Final Food Monitoring Activity

In Nov. 2016, the final activity of monitoring AMR bacteria in foods was completed in Hanoi, Nha Trang and HCMC. Since 2013, this activity had quarterly monitored one of AMR bacteria, ESBL-producing E.coli, in foods (chicken, pork, fish, shrimp) from wholesale markets, supermarkets and retail stores. To do this, the project developed sampling methods, testing methods and archived testing data. A Japanese Expert of food microbiology had been collaborate with Vietnamese Institutions of each site. This model of AMR monitoring has been reported to the MOH and proposed to make use for the national monitoring system.
